O que é que é suposto a gente pensar quando o Ministério do Ambiente, questionado sobre a Barrinha de Esmoriz, diz que o dique fusível "deixará de ser necessário logo que se consiga retirar a descarga na Barrinha de águas poluídas que provêm fundamentalmente do concelho de Santa Maria da Feira, e cujas obras de despoluição «em alta» estão a decorrer sob a responsabilidade da Simria". Isto quando não há dique fusível há muito tempo...

As a Porguese-American who enjoys reading about events in Ovar, I was somewhat disheartened about the "suck my dique" remark. Even though the term is a pun to accentuate the serious issue of environmental policy, it does not suit well with its vulgar and sexual double entendre. We here in the United States are well accustomed to daily exhibition of bad manners, but Portugal and its people are more noted for its politeness and good breeding. It is a sad day indeed when Portugal emulates the abject degeneracy of the rest of the world. This type of editorial does not belong in a serious discussion that will be read by many.
